About Bible X Studio

Bible X is an exciting independent game studio founded in 2020 in Moss, Norway and staffed by experienced developers that have worked on titles such as Assassin’s Creed, GTA, PUBG, Red Dead Redemption/Revolver, Diablo 4, Killing Floor 1/2/3 and Maneater.

Having hit the Kickstarter goal of $324,000 in 72 hours while raising a total of over $331,726 by the end of the campaign and going on to now have raised over half of the $12.5M fundraising target with $6.5M raised so far, Bible X has proven the overwhelming interest in the Gate Zero game.

Bible X’s mission is to bring the message of the Bible to life and make it accessible through immersive experiences. The team is composed of passionate game developers who strongly believe in the powerful medium of gaming and its role in engaging, educating, and inspiring youth today. We believe that there is a great need for innovation when it comes to conveying the Bible’s life-changing message to the younger generation and aim to develop high-quality, comprehensive products that can be used individually or in groups by anyone who wants to take the words of the Bible seriously.

About the Game

Gate Zero is an open-world, single-player, third-person story driven adventure game with an innovative open playstyle that empowers gamers to tackle challenges their way. As Max, a teenager from a dystopian future transported back into the ancient past, players utilize their own mix of action, stealth, dialogue, unique tools and abilities to save the future and get back to their own time.

About the Role

Responsibilities:

  • Development of mission and quest flow
  • Features development and support
  • Rapid prototyping of new features
  • Build and maintain key gameplay systems, from production through to post-launch
  • Analyze existing code and propose efficient solutions
  • Write solid code with focus on performances and memory usage
  • Maintain a high software quality, find and fix bugs
  • Cooperate with designers, programmers and testers to bring suggestions from an idea to a released feature
  • Help to define, implement, and improve player experiences with art and design

Required qualifications:

  • 3-5+ years of experience with Unreal Engine 4/5. Strong knowledge of the engine and current 3D graphics techniques.
  • Proficient in C++ and Knowledge of code optimization techniques
  • Experience shipping at least one game title preferably AA or AAA
  • Strong understanding of technical limits and excellent technical problem-solving skills
  • Experience with open world (world partition/world composition) is highly appreciated
  • Ability to analyze complex code and find non-trivial solutions
  • Good understanding of what makes a game fun and interesting to play
  • Fluent in verbal and written English

Preferred qualifications:

  • Deep knowledge of Unreal Animation System
  • Deep understanding with Player 3C
  • Experience with Quest systems is a plus
  • Experience with Dialogue Systems is a plus
  • Experience with console development
  • Comfortable with debugging unfamiliar code
  • Love of games: Specifically, open world action-adventure titles as well as cooperative games.
  • Passionate in bringing the messages of the Bible out in video game form.
