About Bible X Studio

Bible X is an exciting independent game studio founded in 2020 in Moss, Norway and staffed by experienced developers that have worked on titles such as Assassin’s Creed, GTA, PUBG, Red Dead Redemption/Revolver, Diablo 4, Killing Floor 1/2/3 and Maneater.

Having hit the Kickstarter goal of $324,000 in 72 hours while raising a total of over $331,726 by the end of the campaign and going on to now have raised over half of the $12.5M fundraising target with $6.5M raised so far, Bible X has proven the overwhelming interest in the Gate Zero game.

Bible X’s mission is to bring the message of the Bible to life and make it accessible through immersive experiences. The team is composed of passionate game developers who strongly believe in the powerful medium of gaming and its role in engaging, educating, and inspiring youth today. We believe that there is a great need for innovation when it comes to conveying the Bible’s life-changing message to the younger generation and aim to develop high-quality, comprehensive products that can be used individually or in groups by anyone who wants to take the words of the Bible seriously.

About the Game

Gate Zero is an open-world, single-player, third-person story driven adventure game with an innovative open playstyle that empowers gamers to tackle challenges their way. As Max, a teenager from a dystopian future transported back into the ancient past, players utilize their own mix of action, stealth, dialogue, unique tools and abilities to save the future and get back to their own time.

About the Role

Responsibilities: 

  • Execute the design direction and be responsible for designing the levels and create block out / white box that fits within and uses the historical accurate context of ancient Israel, and our unique levels from our alternative world. 
  • Design and build level prototypes and carry them through to full in-game levels which meet the title’s aims. Utilize and expand upon its gameplay systems to surprise and satisfy our players. 
  • Take care of enemy, loot, mission, placement and arrangement of the gameplay ingredients. 
  • Drive the creation of level content from paper design through to the final stages of polish while ensuring the requirements of the gameplay, creative, and technical stakeholders are maintained. 
  • Collaborate with the Director, Design team and art team throughout all production stages. 
  • Anticipate technical and creative challenges while facilitating communication to address concerns immediately. 
  • Create and maintain documentation for new and existing world content 
  • Actively engage in and seek out playtesting for your levels to get feedback to aid you in honing the player experience 

  Required qualifications: 

  • 5+ years of professional experience as a Level Designer in the Games Industry with at least two shipped titles. 
  • Strong understanding of the theory behind player motivations and overall player psychology that can be altered though proper level design. 
  • Passionate about history and research (to be able to maintain the aspect of historical accuracy in the game) 
  • Excellent sense for design and creating outstanding user experiences 
  • Experience of working autonomously and driving content creation within tight time constraints 
  • Understanding of level design principles, pacing and mission flow 
  • Outstanding communication and written documentation skills in English 
  • Flexible and easily able to adapt to change  

  Preferred qualifications: 

  • Experience in Unreal Engine 4 or 5 
  • Environment concept design skills  
  • Visual scripting skills (blueprints) to be able to prototype features 
  • Love for games: Specifically, open-world action-adventure titles and cooperative games.
