Gate Zero at the Game Developers Conference 2024

This March, we made an appearance at the Game Developers Conference (GDC) – the game industry’s premier professional event – with a Gate Zero booth for the first time. The annual conference, held at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, is an event for video game developers that includes an expo, networking, awards shows and a comprehensive selection of talks on various topics of game development. Among the 28,000 attendees were business leaders, producers, game designers, programmers, artists, audio professionals, and students.

Our goal with being at GDC was to make important connections with business partners and industry leaders, hire talented developers and build awareness for our game. Our booth was occupied most of the time, with many approaching us who were incredibly positive and genuinely interested in what we are doing. Several commented that we were the first faith-based game they had ever seen at GDC, which was both refreshing and exciting for them.

Another highlight was an informal Christian game developers meet up that we cohosted at the park outside the convention center. Over 30 people showed up through word of mouth and connections on Linkedin, and it was amazing to meet so many at various stages in their professional career – from CEOs to students, from various countries and backgrounds, all united with the same faith.

We left the event very encouraged and inspired to keep doing what we’re doing, and we look forward to being able to bring Gate Zero out to the world soon!
